Circle D - 'fun, support and socials for 18-30's with diabetes'

About Us

We are two young people with diabetes who met in February 2007 on a DAFNE course based in Kent. Since the course we have become close friends providing support to each other through our Diabetes and life in general! There is a real sense of "what would we do without each other!". Being young and Diabetic can be very hard at times and it helps so much to have someone our own age to talk to and share experiences with.

We were invited to complete the 3D course in November 2007 through Diabetes UK which gives you the skills to facilitate your own "Diabetics Support Group" for 18-30 year old's.

Our group named "Circle D" was established in April 2008 and has been growing and developing ever since!

Due to Sally's other commitments I (Shelley) now continue to run Circle D and the "support" meet ups which take place in the evening every few weeks.  Circle D is a relaxed and informal environment where we can all chat and support each other.

As a group we also go on regular social outings to theme parks/ clubs/ restaurants/ bowling etc. We are also involved in fundraising, projects and raising awareness :0)

We have a group on Facebook, our own Twitter and this website!

Thank you for taking the time to visit the website and for showing an interest in Circle D, it means a lot...

Shelley & Sally xx
